നെല്‍കൃഷിയോടൊപ്പം പ്രസ്തുത നിലത്തിലോ കരയിലോ നെല്‍കൃഷിയുടെ ഇടവേളകളില്‍ മറ്റു കൃഷികളും ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്. ഇത് മണ്ണിന്റെ ഗുണമേന്മ ഉയര്‍ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും വരുമാനം വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഇത് ഏറ്റവും ഫലപ്രദമായി ചെയ്യുന്നത് കുട്ടനാടന്‍ ചേറ്റുനിലങ്ങളിലാണ്. അവിടെ ഒരു ഹെക്ടറില്‍ ഒരു വര്‍ഷം 10,000 മത്സ്യങ്ങളും 750 ബ്രോയിലര്‍ താറാവുകളും 3-5 പോത്തുകളുമാണ് കൃഷിക്കൊപ്പം ശുപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളത്.
മീനും താറാവും
ജൂണ്‍- ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മാസങ്ങളിലാണ് നെല്‍കൃഷി. ഈ സമയത്തുതന്നെ മത്സ്യകുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പാടത്തോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുന്ന കുളങ്ങളില്‍ സംരക്ഷിക്കാം. ഗ്രാസ്‌കാര്‍പ്പ്,രോഹു, മൃഗാള്‍ എന്നീ മത്സ്യങ്ങള്‍ 2:1:1 എന്ന അനുപാതത്തില്‍ വളര്‍ത്താവുന്നതാണ്. വിഗോവ എന്നയിനം ബ്രോയിലര്‍ താറാവിനെ 125-150 എന്ന തോതില്‍ കുളത്തിന് മുകളിലായി നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള താറാവ് കൂട്ടില്‍ വളര്‍ത്താവുന്നതാണ്. കൃത്യമായി ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തിയ തീറ്റ താറാവിന് നല്‍കണം..തീറ്റയുടെ അവശിഷ്ടവും താറാവിന് കാഷ്ടവുമൊക്കെ താഴെയുള്ള കുളത്തില്‍ വീണ് കുളം സമ്പുഷ്ടമാകും. 45-50 ദിവസംകൊണ്ട് താറാവ് 2.5-3 കി.ഗ്രാം തൂക്കം വയ്ക്കും. ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ ഒരു വര്‍ഷം 8 തവണ വരെ ബ്രോയിലര്‍ താറാവിനെ വളര്‍ത്താം. ഏകദേശം 9-10 ടണ്‍ വരുന്ന താറാവിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടം ഇതുവഴി പുനര്‍ചംക്രമണം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
പോത്തും വിളയും
നെല്ലിന്റെ വിളവെടുപ്പ് നടന്ന പാടത്ത് വെള്ളം കെട്ടി നിര്‍ത്തിയശേഷം മത്സ്യക്കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണ വളര്‍ച്ച പ്രാപിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി പാടത്തേക്ക് തുറന്നു വിടാവുന്നതാണ്.നെല്‍വിളവെടുപ്പിനുശേഷം ബാക്കിവന്ന വൈക്കോല്‍ അഴുകി ചേര്‍ന്ന് മത്സ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ആഹാരമായി മാറുന്നു. ഗ്രാസ്‌കാര്‍പ്പ് പോലെയുളള മത്സ്യങ്ങള്‍ ജലത്തില്‍ വളരുന്ന കളകളേയും അഴുകിചേര്‍ന്ന വൈക്കോലിനെയും ആഹാരമാക്കി മാറ്റാന്‍ കഴിവുള്ളവയാണ്. വരുംകാല നെല്‍കൃഷിക്കു മുന്‍പായി മത്സ്യങ്ങളുടെ വിളവെടുക്കാം.അതുകഴിഞ്ഞ് ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കകം നെല്‍കൃഷി തുടങ്ങുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ പ്രത്യേകമായ നിലമൊരുക്കലും കളനിയന്ത്രണവും ആവശ്യമില്ല. 3-5 പോത്തിനെ വളര്‍ത്താന്‍ മെതിച്ചതിന് ശേഷമുള്ള വൈക്കോലും മറ്റു കളകളും മതിയാകും. ഈ രീതിയില്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന സംയോജിത കൃഷിയില്‍ നിന്നും 6-8 ടണ്‍ നെല്ലും 1.8-2.25 ടണ്‍ താറാവും 2.5-3 ടണ്‍ മത്സ്യവും 450-500 ടണ്‍ പോത്തിറച്ചിയും ഒരു ഹെക്ടറില്‍ നിന്നും ഒരു വര്‍ഷം ലഭിക്കും.
മറ്റിടങ്ങളില്‍ ഇടവേളകളില്‍ പച്ചക്കറി,പയറുവര്‍ഗ്ഗം,എള്ള്,സൂര്യകാന്തി തുടങ്ങിയ എണ്ണക്കുരുക്കള്‍,പച്ചിലവളങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവയും കൃഷി ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്

Along with paddy cultivation, other cultivations can be done on the field along with paddy or in the intervals of paddy cultivation. This will improve the quality of the soil and increase the yield. In addition, integrated farming can be done. This is most effective in Kuttanad wetlands. It is recommended to cultivate 10,000 fish, 750 broiler ducks and 3-5 buffaloes per hectare per year.
Paddy is cultivated during the months of June-October. At the same time the fish seedlings can be kept in ponds built near the field. Grass carp, rohu and mrigal can be reared in the ratio of 2: 1: 1. Vigova broiler ducks can be reared at 125-150 in a duck cage built above the pond. Properly regulated feed should be given to the duck. Feed residue and duck droppings will fall into the pond below and enrich the pond. In 45-50 days the duck weighs 2.5-3 kg. In this way broiler ducks can be reared up to 8 times a year. About 9-10 tons of duck waste is also recycled through this.
After harvesting paddy, water can be stored in the field and the juvenile fishes can be released into the field for full growth. Fish such as grass carp are capable of feeding on weeds and rotten straw remains in the water. Fish can be harvested before the next paddy cultivation. If paddy cultivation is started within a week thereafter, no special land preparation and weed control is required. Straw and other weeds after threshing are sufficient to raise 3-5 buffaloes. Integrated farming in this method yields 6-8 tonnes of paddy, 1.8-2.25 tonnes of duck, 2.5-3 tonnes of fish and 450-500 tonnes of beef per hectare per annum.
Elsewhere, vegetables, pulses, sesame , sunflower and green manures can be grown at intervals.
