ഫിഷറീസ് വകുപ്പ് ജില്ലയില്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ബയോഫ്‌ളോക് ഡെമോണ്‍സ്‌ട്രേഷന്‍ യൂണിറ്റിന്റെ ഭാഗിക വിളവെടുപ്പ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം മന്ത്രി ജെ മേഴ്‌സികുട്ടിയമ്മ നിര്‍വഹിച്ചു. Minister J Mersikuttyamma inaugurated the partial harvesting of the Biofloc Demonstration Unit set up by the Fisheries Department in the district.

സുഭിക്ഷ കേരളം പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം ബയോഫ്‌ളോക് മത്സ്യകൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്ന കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്ക് പ്രായോഗിക പരിശീലനം നല്‍കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടി സ്ഥാപിച്ച യൂണിറ്റില്‍ 1250 മത്സ്യകുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണ് കൃഷി ആരംഭിച്ചത്.
ആറു മാസമാണ് കൃഷി കാലയളവെങ്കിലും ക്രിസ്മസ്-പുതുവത്സര ഉത്സവ സീസണ്‍ പ്രമാണിച്ചാണ് വിളവെടുപ്പ് നടത്തിയത്. മത്സ്യം ആവശ്യമുള്ളവര്‍ 0474-2967330 എന്ന നമ്പരില്‍ ബന്ധപ്പെടണം.
