ചാരം മികച്ചൊരു വളം

വളം എന്ന രീതിയിൽ പണ്ടുതൊട്ടേ നാം ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് വെണ്ണീർ അഥവാ ചാരം. അടിവളമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുവാനും, തടത്തിൽ വിതറാനും എല്ലാം ചാരം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. നൈട്രജൻ, ഫോസ്ഫറസ്, പൊട്ടാഷ് എന്നീ ഘടകങ്ങൾ സമ്പുഷ്ടമായ അളവിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു ചാരത്തിൽ. വാഴ, കപ്പ, തെങ്ങ് തുടങ്ങിയ വിളകൾക്ക് ചാരത്തിന്റെ ഉപയോഗം നല്ലതാണ്.

ചാരം കുമ്മായം ചേർത്ത് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് കീടനിയന്ത്രണത്തിന് ഏറ്റവും ഫലപ്രദമായ മാർഗ്ഗമാണ്. ചാരം വെള്ളത്തിൽ നന്നായി കലക്കി എടുത്തു ചെടികൾക്കു മേൽ സ്പ്രേ ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കുന്നത് ചെറിയ പ്രാണി ശല്യത്തിന് കുറവുവരുത്താൻ നല്ലതാണ്. പയറുകളിലും മറ്റും കാണുന്ന മുഞ്ഞ ശല്യം മാറുവാൻ ചാരത്തിനൊപ്പം അല്പം ഉപ്പു കൂടി ചേർത്ത് ഇലകളിൽ വിതറിയാൽ മതി. ചാര ത്തിന് ചൂടു കൂടുതൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് വളപ്രയോഗം നടത്തുമ്പോൾ ചെടിയുടെ കടയ്ക്കൽ ഇടാതെ അല്പം മാറ്റിയിടാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണം
