വേമ്പനാട് ‌ കായലിന്റെ എക്കൽ നീക്കം : സ്ഥല പരിശോധന ഇന്ന്

എറണാകുളം : വേമ്പനാട് ‌ കായലിന്റെ എക്കൽ നീക്കവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഇന്ന് സ്ഥലപരിശോധന നടത്തും. കണ്ണങ്കാട്ട് വെല്ലിങ്ടൺ ഐലന്റ്‌ പാലം മുതൽ അരൂർ പാലം വരെയുളള പ്രദേശത്ത് അനുയോജ്യമായ സ്ഥലം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിനാണ് ബുധനാഴ്ച സ്ഥലപരിശോധന. എക്കൽ നീക്കവുമായി ബന്ധപെട്ട് ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ എസ് സുഹാസിന്റെ അധ്യക്ഷതയിൽ ചേർന്ന അവലോകന യോഗത്തിലാണ് തീരുമാനം .

ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ നടപടി പ്രകാരം എക്കൽ നിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ട സ്ഥലം കണ്ടെത്താൻ കളക്ടർ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്ക് നിർദ്ദേശം നൽകി. ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ എസ് സുഹാസ് , എം എൽ എ മാരായ ജോൺ ഫെർണാണ്ടസ്, എം സ്വരാജ് എന്നിവരടങ്ങിയ സംഘമാണ് സ്ഥലം സന്ദർശിക്കുക.

ഇടക്കൊച്ചി കുമ്പളം പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ വലിയ തോതിൽ ഉപ്പു വെള്ളം കയറി നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും ചെളി കോരിയ സ്ഥലത്തു വീണ്ടും എക്കൽ അടിയുന്നുണ്ട് . കൂടാതെ എക്കൽ അടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നതു മൂലം മട്ടാഞ്ചേരി ബോട്ട് ജെട്ടിയിൽ രണ്ടു വർഷമായി ബോട്ട് അടുക്കുന്നില്ല . ജല ഗതാഗതം സുഗമമാകണമെങ്കിൽ എക്കൽ നീക്കം ചെയ്യണമെന്നും ജോൺ ഫെർണാണ്ടസ് എം എൽ എ പറഞ്ഞു.

Ernakulam: A site inspection will be conducted today in connection with the single movement of Vembanad lake. A site inspection will be conducted on Wednesday to find a suitable site in the area from Kannankadu Wellington Island Bridge to Aroor Bridge. The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by District Collector S Suhas.
The Collector directed the officials to find a suitable place to deposit Eckel as per the disaster mitigation measures. A delegation comprising District Collector S Suhas, MLAs John Fernandes and M Swaraj will visit the site.

In the Idakochi Kumbalam area, a large amount of salt water is causing damage and the mud is hitting the area again. Also, the boat has not been approaching the Mattancherry boat jetty for two years due to siltation. John Fernandes MLA also said that Eckel should be removed if water transportation is to be facilitated.
